This course is designed to educate and certify 15+ year old upcoming guards on the appropriate skills needed to be a lifeguard. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive their certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR / AED for the Professional Rescuer.
After registering for the course through the Y, participant must also pass a skills pre-test on the first day of the course. Pre-test skills include: Swim 300 yds., Tread water for 2 minutes, Swim 15 yds., dive down to retrieve a 10 lb. brick & swim back to the wall in 1 min, 40 sec. The skills test must be successfully completed for participant to continue with the course.
Please bring a bathing suit, towel, and goggles.
