Code of Conduct
The actions of each swimmer, parent and coach reflect upon the entire swim team and the Buler County Family YMCA. All members of the Butler YMCA Swim Team, as well as their parents and coaches, are expected to abide by the Code of Conduct.
By joining this swim team, all swimmers and parents agree to follow this code at all times.

HEAD COACH: Alex Fertelmes
Coach Alex is a former BYAC, SEBCO, and Knoch HS swimmer. He has coached the SEBCO swim team since 1999 and served as an assistant coach for the State College Area YMCA, Knoch HS, and BYAC). He has coached for BYAC for seven years. Alex swam at the collegiate level for Penn State Behrend. During the day Alex works as an automation engineer for JSP in East Butler. As well as swimming, he enjoys competing in road races and triathlons. His goal as a coach is to teach swimmers to love the sport of swimming.
COACH: Corrie Jones
Coach Corrie started swimming as a teenager and swam for both BYAC and Butler HS. She continued swimming at the collegiate level where she made All-American status as a freshman. After graduation she chose to swim with the Masters Swim Program where she attended the Masters Nationals in eight events and winning the National Title for the 1650 Freestyle and setting the record in that event. Corrie has been a part-time coach with BYAC for the past 16+ years. She also coaches the Penn Valley Swim Team over the summer. When she’s not at the pool, she is either teaching for BASD or spending time with her husband and two daughters.
COACH: Tim O’Toole
Tim O’Toole has been coaching at the Butler YMCA for three years with a passion to instill the core values of the YMCA in each swimmer. Prior to the YMCA, Coach O’Toole spent six years at Blackhawk, four years coaching at Knoch, and four years at Sebco. Having coached 10 WPIAL champions, 1 State Champion, 1 National Qualifier, and numerous Sectional & Zone qualifiers, Coach O’Toole hasn’t lost sight of the most important things; teaching his swimmers life lessons such as respect, putting your best foot forward, and being on time. Coach O’Toole enjoys a good round of golf and spending time with his children.
COACH: Jaclyn Stukat Gren
Jaclyn Stukat Gren is entering her first year coaching for BYAC. Prior to coaching at Butler Y, she was the head coach at Allegheny Valley YMCA for 4 years and served as an assistant coach at Saint Francis University Womens Swim team for 1 year. Jaclyn grew up swimming at AVY and went on to Division I Collegiate Swimming at Saint Francis University where she competed for 3 years. Jaclyn also works as a physician assistant at Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic in Oakland. She resides in Mars with her husband.
COACH: Kathleen Pierre
Kathleen Pierre is entering her first year of coaching at BYAC however she has a long history of coaching. Kathy coached at Allegheny Valley YMCA for 10 + years. She initially served as a coach for the Novice swimmers, however, was a head coach of Allegheny Valley for the past 4 years. Kathy is the mother of 10 children, all who are active in swimming. Before staying at home to raise her children, Kathy was a chemical engineer. She currently resides in Middlesex.
