Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County is a program of the Butler County Family YMCA, an agency of the United Way of Butler County, and a fully accredited affiliate

Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and youth and to assist them in becoming confident, competent and caring individuals by providing committed adult volunteers.

90% of the children in our program who are matched with a Big say that they feel happy, hopeful, lucky and content when they are with their Bigs.

The Effectiveness of Big Brothers Big Sisters

In a study by Public/Private Ventures for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, researchers found that Little Brothers and Little Sisters were:
              • 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
              • 27% less likely to begin using alcohol
              • 52% less likely to skip school
              • More confident in their performance in schoolwork
              • Getting along better with their families
